This week's 周四的倒退 post looks back to Halloween at Stanbridge, 和 creative D-I-Y costumes of resident science teacher/sketch comedian Jay Huston. 今年, Jay combined his love of science and appreciation of puns by dressing as The Periodic Table...a costume that also doubled as an actual table, periodically. Similarly punderful costumes included a literal take on 变形金刚 in 2016, a Super Burrito in 2017, and a butter fly in 2014. He hit the high road in 2015 sporting a sleek Ferrari getup, though as a longtime Prince fan we're surprised he didn't opt for a Little Red Corvette. Nevertheless, Jay's creativity is on full display every day in his high school science lab—where he's prone to wear a costume or two even when it's not Halloween if it helps motivate his students. Be sure to check out our 脸谱网 page this weekend for more highlights from this year's Stanbridge Halloween Carnival, and if you're in the market for goods to make your own creative costume, 记住, AmazonSmile is donating ten-times their normal amount on qualifying purchases through this Friday.
This week's 周四的倒退 post takes us to Yosemite National Park.
Throughout 浩博体育app网站's 36-year history, 从实践经验中学习 has been a cornerstone of our program. A highlight for many of our senior classes is the overnight trip to Yosemite National Park—often a week-long excursion taken each fall. Along with building self-confidence and developing camaraderie amongst classmates and teachers, the trip allows students to explore one of the country's most majestic natural landmarks. 如上所示, the group hike through the Ahwahnee Boulders is a rite of passage (pardon the pun) that also makes for a good photo op. 今年's senior class will return from their week in Yosemite tomorrow, and we'll have plenty more pictures to share on our 脸谱网, 推特, and Instagram feeds from their trip, as well as photos from this week's other high school experiential excursions to NatureBridge and Angel Island. This week's 周四的倒退 post takes us back to January 2013 和 first Stanbridge experiential trip to Washington, D.C.
Partnering with the Close Up Foundation, Stanbridge high school juniors and seniors not only got to visit Washington, D.C. to witness President Barack Obama's second-term inauguration, they also spent time touring landmarks, 浏览网站, and connecting with other students from all over the country. 2013年春季 Stanbridge季度 通讯:
This biennial experiential trip has become a tradition here at Stanbridge; this year's excursion will mark the fourth time we'll be partnering with Close Up to take our students to the nation's capital. More highlights from previous trips to come as we kickoff this year's fall experientials next week. And don't forget that the first informational meeting for this spring's D.C. trip is tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. in Hayden Hall (see post below). |
